Ngmoco, the hardcore iOS developer announced that it has been acquired by japanese DeNA for about $400 million, ngmoco has numerous social games for the iOS platform and was one of the first company funded by the KPCB’s ifund and recently received a small investment from Google ($5 million).

I was expecting the transformation of the iPod Touch into a more versatile gaming touch device, Apple had another idea, but rumors about a 7″ iPad has inundated the internet and while I don’t believe that Apple will ever launch it as a real product, I would like to see a more gaming oriented device from Apple, games alone can drive more revenue per device that what Apple actually gets from the iPod Touch and developers will jump immediately to supply hardcore games to the new platform.
