The iPhone goes to work for the NASA
NASA puts the iPhone to work, researchers at the NASA’s Ames Research Center, Moffett Field, Calif, found that the little smartphone could do more than playing games and dropping calls, they turned it into a low-cost, low-power and high speed nanosensor-based chemical sensor, they created a postal size device that if plugged into the iphone could transform it into the next CSI piece of technology.
The device will detect and identify low concentrations of airborne ammonia, chlorine gas and methane and send the information to other phones or computers using Wi-Fi.
