Dell launched its mobile phone while rumors point to Nokia buying Palm
Dell is launching the Dell Mini 3 mobile phone in China and Brazil, but the strangest thing ever is why is Dell launching the Mini 3 over there? Maybe Dell wants to create some buzz around the world first and then jump into the States for a massive take over the iPhone, but while Dell Mini 3 doesn’t bring anything new to the table, it can slowly help Dell creates its mobile business, there is a phone for every people and budget and the Mini 3 will have a very difficult time trying to find its niche with the Palm Pixi at $39 at Walmart and the Pre price going down everyday.
So keep your fingers crossed.
The other thing that will make the Mini 3 days toughers is the recent rumors about Nokia buying Palm, Nokia sells a godzillion of mobile phones around the globe and there is not chance for Dell to compete in price and flavors, Nokia is the monster with dozen of models, specs and settings to meet every pocket in every poor country.
The mix of Nokia + the Palm WebOS will be a winning ticket and Nokia big pocket could help the shiny new WebOS to reach a wider audience and new devices, cause Nokia has been struggling with Symbian and the the Maemo is about to be launched while the WebOS is already tested and proved.
